Dr. Yefim Gitterman

RESEARCH INTERESTS in Seismic Hazard Analysis:
·Estimation and reduction of seismic hazard from man-made seismic sources (industrial blasting);

·Processing and analysis of strong motion records of the Israel accelerograph network;

·Analytical and experimental estimations of seismic site-response and amplification effects from recordings of microtremors, weak earthquakes and strong motions;

·Spatial correlation analysis of microtremors for assessment of a near-surface velocity structure;

·Theoretical analysis of a stochastic rupture directivity model and experimental estimations of the directivity effect for the Middle East earthquakes, with application to earthquake hazard evaluation.
